The Making Of [Episode #256]

Production notes for The Making of Episode #256 of Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast. Listening to Crimson King - In the court of King Crimson on beat-up noise-cancelling headphones while preparing today's content and pondering the adventures of other mad professors such as Dr. Rusty Venture. Editing went smoother than expected especially compared to the all-day build required for this past Sunday’s Episode #253. Encountering an audio glitch, which is definitely not syncing as smoothly as what’s being presented during editing. Going to try audio splitting and re-rendering before uploading and getting on with day digitally illustrating the final two pages of our Manitoulin Colouring Book. Then it's uploading and social media broadcasting this evening!

Timbering and Rock Picking [Episode #242]

Bright, cool morning. Sue and Ashley enjoyed lunch together yesterday as Sue’s new Fuji finally arrived! Finished tough timbering and rock picking page for Manitoulin colouring book yesterday as well. Then edited down first day of work on page into today’s episode #242 of Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast. Plus! Watch closely for rare footage of an actual artist in the wild. Apparently Jack Whyte has been working on a new self-portrait in the form of an assemblage collage and can’t find certain items that we photographed for his auto-biographical Scrapbook: a story of art including a shoe horn, slide rule and miniature wooden bowling pins.

Somebody Farted [Episode #232]

Our best live episode to date! Due to my own unusual education it's funny that this episode of Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast was recorded in the one room of my father’s home where the majority of my autodidactic or self-taught learning/education has come from.

One-Room School Highlights [Episode #229]

As if learning how to draw from scratch wasn’t challenging enough, we’ve also set out to document the creative process with our daily video podcasts. It’s definitely not easy juggling a camera and microphone around my workstation and drawing tablet. But after distilling about 12 minutes of yesterday’s footage into the highlights of today’s minute long project update, I think the final documentation is well worth any temporary inconvenience.

Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast [The Shorter Film]

Is it an ad, is it educational, is it entertaining?

This film challenges all convention by introducing two characters the likes of which you have never met before.

Such as, is it inconceivable to conclude a creative commons share-a-like film with a direct link supporting creators as opposed to a tangle of legalities?

The Original Tweet [Episode #199]

We wanted something extra special for Valentines Day 2017 which is also our 199th consecutive day of video podcasting, so we unearthed this 110 year-old silver embossed postcard from Big Rapids, Michigan with the first known tweet!

The Story Thus Far [Episode #193]

Hot off the presses! We literally just finished compiling, editing and uploading today's special extra-long episode of Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast! Unfortunately, due to our tight schedule, we have some good news and some bad news regarding today's episode. The bad news is that we had to leave out some material. Specifically a lost image of a Jack Whyte acrylic painting entitled "Mommy, the Birds Are Back." Which we just couldn't locate this morning for the life of us. The good news? While we were hunting for our AWOL painting we found three bonus images that did get included with today's podcast PLUS! The best news of all!? Coming tomorrow.. duh Duh DUH! The thing we know you’ve all been waiting for… POSTCARDS!

Jack & Dylon's Daily Video Podcast [Episode #190] Thank You

The story thus far: on Canada Day 2016 artist Jack Whyte, along with his son Dylon, launch Art and Stories of the 20th Century Postcard - an innovative interactive living art experiment on Facebook.

To promote this project they also created 169 episodes of the "Enjoying Postcards" podcast/vidcast which has been broadcasting daily on our social media networks since September of 2016.

On January 17th, 2017 "Enjoying Postcards" evolved into "Postcards and $hit!" allowing hosts Jack and Dylon Whyte a greater diversity of shit to talk about. Along with this evolution came this, their brand new Facebook fan page.

However, on February 4th, 2017, they decided to rechristen as "Jack and Dylon's Daily Video Podcast" in order to simplify.

Thanks for watching, liking, following, sharing, subscribing and contributing - we really couldn't do it without you!

Postcards and $hit: The Short Film

Continuing the success of their initial "Enjoying Postcards" podcast and subsequent feature film, Jack and Dylon's story temporarily evolves into the 19 episode odyssey of "Postcards and $hit" presented here for the first time in short film format.
